Lens choice:
The lens format must be equal to or larger than the sensor size, therefore a 2/3" lens will work on a 2/3" sensor but will not work on a 1" sensor.
All lenses on this page are C-mount and will fit a C-mount camera. To use them on a CS-mount camera a 5 mm spacer (C/CS Adapter) must be fitted to the camera first.
For an application where vibration exists it is better to choose a lens with locking pins on iris and focus.
Lens resolution is measured in line pairs per mm but for ease of choice modern protocol describes them as Standard , Megapixel, 5 Megapixel etc. to match the number of sensor pixels.
F-stop (or aperture) is a ratio of lens focal length to the diameter of the entrance pupil. Standard f numbers are f1.4, f2, f2.8, f4, f5.6, f8. Each increment is known as one-stop and a higher number represents half the light gathering area of the previous number.
